- Dr. Huw Thomas, SOD Dean, has been selected as the ADEA SELAM Award for Excellence Recipient for 2010. The SELAM (Society for Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine) Award for Excellence honors individuals that have served as a role model, mentored, supported and advocated for women in medicine, dentistry and the health professions. Dr. Thomas will be honored and receive his award at the SELAM reception during the ADEA meeting in Washington D.C.
- Dr. Mary MacDougall has been elected Vice-president of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) and her term will begin following the IADR General Session July 14-17, 2010 in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. MacDougall will assume the presidency of IADR at the IADR meeting at Rio de Janeiro in 2012.
