Dr. Nico Geurs

Dr. Nico Geurs has agreed to serve as acting chair of the Department of Periodontology at the School of Dentistry.

Dr. Geurs is a 1990 graduate of Free University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He received his Periodontics Certificate and M.S. degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He is presently Professor and Post-Doctoral Director in the Department of Periodontology. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Geurs has lectured nationally and internationally on various topics in periodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. Geurs is an integral part of the translational research program within the department. His consensus building style, passion for clinical excellence and ability to work with various groups of faculty, students and staff makes him a natural choice. Nico’s appointment will start on June 6, 2011
