J. Scott Huffman, CFRE

Scott Huffman is the Senior Director of Development for the School of Dentistry, a position he has held since June of 2004.  Scott is responsible for managing all fund raising and alumni relations at the School and holds the certified fund raising executive designation (CFRE). He also serves as Executive Director of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry Alumni Association. He has worked in higher education for 18 years. Before coming to UAB, he served at the University of West Georgia as Associate Vice President for Development and Interim Vice President for Advancement. He has served as Chief Executive of three different educational foundations, including the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science in Mobile. Scott’s first career was in broadcast journalism. He worked as a news reporter and sports anchor for WAAY-TV in Huntsville from 1987 to 1989.

Scott earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and master’s from Mississippi State University.

He is married to Susan of Starkville, Mississippi. They have two children, Ashley and Alex.


 

 

Charlene Phillips

Charlene Phillips is the Administrative Associate for the Development and Alumni Relations Office at the School of Dentistry.  Her responsibilities include fund raising support such as gift processing and stewardship.  Charlene also serves as Executive Secretary of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry Alumni Association.  Those responsibilities include working with Alumni Association Executive Council and Officers providing administrative support, alumni association membership,coordinating association expenditures and assisting with event planning.

Kimberly Crowe

Kimberly Crowe joined the School of Dentistry as the Alumni Affairs Specialist in September, 2007. She has more than five years of event planning and marketing experience. Prior to beginning a career at UAB, she served as Event Coordinator for the City of Homewood’s Rosewood Hall at Soho Square and Group Sales & Marketing manager for the Birmingham Broadway Series. Crowe’s responsibilities include planning and managing the alumni relations program and special events for the School and its Alumni Association. She is responsible for coordinating Alumni Weekend and will serves as editor of the Alumni Association’s newsletter.

Kimberly is a 2002 graduate of Samford University and holds a BS in Business Management. She also received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from UAB in 2004.
