How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in the UAB School of Dentistry program in Biomaterials and Clinical Dentistry. We accept applications from national and international dentists (DDS, DMD, BDS, etc.) with an interest in the goals of our program -- insightful research and clinical excellence. A completed application will contain the following information:
  • Completed application form
  • Official copies of transcripts
  • 3 letters of recommendation (one from your dental school Dean)
  • TOEFL score (Test of English as a Foreign Language; international students only)
  • GRE scores
  • Financial statement (international students only)

Steps to Apply

  1. Apply directly to the dental school using the forms listed throughout these five steps. Alternatively, you can request an application by mail by sending your request to:

  2. Complete the application and send with the $50 application fee to the School of Dentistry. Three letters of recommendation should also be sent.

  3. International students for whom English is not their native language must take the TOEFL exam. More information on the TOEFL exam.

  4. Students are strongly encouraged to take the GRE examination. Scores may be sent to the UAB Graduate School, but an official copy of your scores (not a photocopy) mailed to you from GRE administrators is sufficient. More information on this exam.

  5. International students must fill out a financial statement.

The Application Deadline is April 1, but earlier applications may receive more consideration.
