Biography
Dr. Weatherford is a 1969 graduate of UAB School of Dentistry. He received his Periodontics Certificate and M.S. degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He is presently a professor in the Department of Periodontology with responsibilities in the didactic and clinical aspects of the first professional degree and advanced education programs of dental students, dental hygiene students (preceptor and degree) and graduate students in the clinical specialty programs. Dr. Weatherford's research interests lie in the area of etiological agents of periodontitis and the control of them and in the histo-pathogenesis of periodontal diseases.
