Student Practice Opportunities

The Practice Opportunity Placement Service (POPS) is administered by the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs. Its purpose is to provide information to graduating dental students regarding opportunities in the dental field such as practices available for purchase, associateships, associateships leading to ownership or full partnership and available office space.

Dentists with opportunities complete a brief questionnaire describing the practice and the opportunity available. This information is then made available to students and residents with continual updates. The service is provided by the school of dentistry at no cost to the student or the practitioner and the information is shared with students and recent graduates only.

Also, the first POPS Workshop was held in February during the school's Alumni Weekend. The purpose of the workshop was to allow practitioners with opportunities and students seeking such opportunities to come together and interact one-on-one. Based on the positive feedback from everyone who participated in the workshop, plans are being made for a repeat event next year.
