Education & Curriculum Development

Our office is responsible for the support and coordination of the dynamic academic program at the UAB School of Dentistry. Information presented here is intended for current and prospective faculty and students.

Associate Dean for Education and Curriculum Development

Michael McCracken, DDS, PhD, is a board-certified prosthodontist in the Department of Prosthodontics. Dr. McCracken is responsible for curriculum, curriculum development, assessment of students, and accreditation requirements.  

Director of Academic Affairs

Ken Tilashalski, DMD is an Associate Professor in the Department of General Dental Sciences.  He  is board certified in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and is also a specialist in Endodontics.  Dr. Tilashalski chairs the Academic Performance Committee, which makes recommendations regarding annual promotion and graduation of dental students.  He is also Director of the Limited Care & Treatment Planning Clinic.
